Work & Play Holiday Club: Easter

Struggling for childcare over the Easter holidays? Looking for something enriching and engaging for your children to do whilst you work or whilst you take a break? We have the answer… bring them to the River & Rowing Museum! This Easter we are bringing back the popular Work and Play Holiday Club.

Following the successful launch of Work & Play last summer, we will be running the workshops again this Easter. Children will be introduced to various art techniques by our amazingly talented art tutor Camilla and will create their own pieces.  They will learn techniques such as screen printing, block printing, painting, drawing and much more as well as social skills such as team work!  Enjoy 10% off hot drinks in our Café when showing receipt at the till.

The club will run from 9.30am – 4pm and all we ask is that you do your work or life admin from our lovely café with views across the Meadows or our dedicated meeting room.

Additional Information:

  • All materials for the activities will be provided, along with a small goody bag after each session.
  • Children are encouraged to bring a snack to have during break and a water bottle.
  • Please advise us of any allergies in advance. Please note we cannot guarantee an allergen free zone given that each participant will bring their own snack of choice.
  • The building has wifi access.
  • If purchasing a drink or food, please feel free to work from the Café. The café serves a range of hot and cold drinks, toasties, cakes and pastries. There are 8 plug sockets in the café.
  • We will have a lunch break 12.20pm – 1pm and we ask that you re-join your children for this period. Lunch can be enjoyed together in the Café or outside on the Meadows.
  • Parents/guardians must stay on site from 9.30am – 4pm. This does not need to be the same parent/guardian for the duration, but please advise us of any changeovers in advance.
  • Children can work towards their Arts Award, accredited by Trinity College. Find out more here: Arts Award. To complete the Arts Award, children need to have done 20hours of guided art. If they have previously taken part in Work & Play together with hours built up over the Easter holidays, they may be eligible to submit work. Alternatively if they attend future Work & Play sessions over the summer, these can count towards securing Arts Award then. NB these two sessions in isolation do not deliver enough hours to get the Award. There is an additional fee of £4.75 for a certificate from Trinity College if they would like to go ahead and work towards the award. Please get in touch via edbookings@rrm.co.uk if you would like to do this.

Suitable for primary school aged children.
