Why volunteer with us?

Volunteering with us is a chance to try something new, share expertise, develop your skills, gain experience and contribute to our charitable work.

Become part of our supportive team with flexible opportunities; from giving a warm and friendly welcome to visitors to behind-the-scenes projects.

As a charity, the River & Rowing Museum is Henley’s sole permanent heritage and cultural organisation. From our location next to the River Thames we house the national rowing collection and showcase internationally significant art for our community to enjoy, including the only gallery in the country dedicated to local Modern British artist, John Piper. Our Learning Programme works with 20,000 people each year to inspire learning, celebrate creativity and build participation.

By volunteering with us, you help us share the joy of the river through its art and stories.
