Sarah Le-Fevre: ‘Run Softly’

‘Run Softly’ is the first solo exhibition from Sarah Le-Fevre, an abstract artist, working mainly in larger scale formats, in acrylics and mixed media on board and canvas. Sarah uses her work to explore her reactions to nature, and especially to the rhythms, infrastructure and wildlife of the Thames at Wallingford and beyond.

Her work is mediated through her lived experience of neurodivergent traits, and the richly textured and layered abstract paintings reflect experiences such as cognitive ‘busyness, fragmented attention, sensory overload and having to ‘mask’ behaviour to appear acceptable in social situations.

“As the Thames inspires my work so heavily, I’m really happy to be showing in this beautiful gallery space, overlooking the river, and surrounded by its rich history, reflected in the Museum’s collections.”

Entry to the exhibition is included in the general admission price to the Museum. Free entry is available on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September as part of our Heritage Open Days offer! On Saturday 14th Sarah will also be hosting a free art event in the Gallery where visitors can create and swap Artist Trading Cards (small scale tradable artworks); a ‘Collaborative Cultural Performance’ project for artists of all ages and abilities. For more information, see the linked event below.

**All are welcome to join Sarah for drinks at the exhibition opening, Thursday 5th September, 6 – 8pm.**
