Christmas at the Museum!

Join us for a magical day out at the Museum. Meet Santa and Mr Toad in our enchanting Grotto, enjoy our festive family workshops and more. Here is the full line up of events to tempt you! Booking links and full information for individual events are below:

Sunday 8th December: 

Make your own Christmas Jumper!

To kick off the festive season in style why not make your own unique Christmas jumper? Create your seasonal design and have it electronically printed onto a jumper, perfect to wear at parties & celebrations!

Share the Joy – you can also have your kids’ designs printed on adult-size jumpers. Perfect for full family matching moments or touching gifts for grandparents and beyond.

*Book early to avoid disappointment as these events are very popular. We can only guarantee you will have a jumper to print on the day if you have booked and selected your size before 9am on Wednesday 4th December (for bookings made after this date where no stock remains, your designs will be printed after the workshop for collection the following week). Select your size options from the form in your booking confirmation email.

*Priority will be given to printing the children’s fantastic designs onto their jumpers. Adult jumpers will be printed in the same session where possible, but may need to be collected later in the day or another day the following week. 

*Please note, all jumpers are white sweatshirts to show off your festive designs to best effect.

Suitable for children of all ages.

Sessions start at 10.30 am, 11 am, 1 pm and 1.30pm (please arrive 5 minutes early to check-in) and last approximately 30 minutes to an hour.

Meet Santa and Mr Toad in our enchanting grotto and receive a special gift!

Standard tickets are £12.50, or for £20 you can enjoy a specially selected premium gift, tailored to your child’s interests. For premium tickets, please complete the form in your booking confirmation email at least a week before your grotto session to ensure our elves have plenty of time to get to work.

Grotto sessions are exclusive to your group of up to four children, and available at 15 minute intervals between 10.15 am and 2.55 pm (please arrive 5 minutes before your session to check-in). Suitable for children of all ages. Babes in arms can accompany but any child wanting a gift must have a ticket. If you wish to bring more than four children, please book two adjoining slots.

Why not make a day of your visit and book a Grotto session as well as a Christmas family workshop for all-day festive fun? You can also enjoy seasonal treats in our café and get some Christmas shopping done in our beautiful shop with gifts for all ages.

NB to book a grotto session and a workshop ticket at the same time use one of the links above, add your chosen tickets to your basket then return to this page and use the other link to add the other tickets to your basket. Both will remain in your basket so you can checkout all of your tickets together.

Please Note:

All children must be accompanied by an adult (18+), free of charge. Activity charge is in addition to Museum admission, but you do not need to visit the Museum to access the activities.
