Families

Make the most of this May half term break with fun family activities at the Museum! Here is the full line up of events for your family and friends. Booking links and full information for individual events are below:

 

Saturday 24th May – Sunday 1st June: 

Museum Trail

Pick up a trail from Front Desk and journey around the Museum in search of clues. Each trail includes a small prize (one trail per child)

Most suitable for age 3 and over.

£2 per trail (Museum admission/annual pass required)

 

Monday 26th May: 

(Bank Holiday, no activities today)

 

Tuesday 27th May: 

Tales of Adventure: Storytelling & Craft

Hear tales of adventure from our wonderful storyteller Sarah then get crafty and make something to take home.

Most suitable for age 7 and under.

Wednesday 28th May:

Tree Painting with Bubble Leaves and Cotton Bud Technique

Take inspiration from local artist Lilly Meikle’s exhibition on display in our Community Gallery and under her expert guidance create beautiful tree paintings! Using their hands and arms as the trunk of the tree, your little ones will then add colourful “leaves” using bubble printing and the cotton bud technique. This will result in a vibrant and personalized piece of art that children can take home.
Suitable for primary school aged children. Dress for mess!

Thursday 29th May

Forest, Fairies and Friends Family Day

Join us for a morning of activities inspired by trees. Crafts, stories and activities.
Fun for all ages

10.00am – 12.30pm Crafts, stories and activities free with admission ticket. Some activities require a small additional charge (£1 – £2) e.g. temporary tattoos/badge making. No booking required.

 

Thursday 29th May:

Mr Toads Tea Party

Join us for an afternoon of fun – Enjoy self-led play and decorate a biscuit to enjoy during a story with Mr Toad.
Most suitable for 4-7 years olds.

Please Note:

All children must be accompanied by an adult (18+), free of charge. Activity charge is in addition to Museum admission, but you do not need to visit the Museum to access the activities (except for the Easter Trail).
