Family Fun: May Half Term

Here is the full line up of our May Half Term events for your family and friends. Booking links and full information for individual events are below:

Tuesday 28th May: 

Teddy Bears Picnic with Toad and Asquiths Bearpawium

Bring your teddy bear & a picnic along to the Museum. Get creative with Maddy and make a picnic ready outfit for your teddy, then join us for a Teddy Bears picnic on the Meadows!

Mr Toad will be greeting visitors just before 10.30am at the Museum and the workshop will run from 10.30am – 11.30am. The workshop will be followed by a picnic on the Meadows (11.30am-12.00pm) with guest of honour Mr Toad and special bears from the Asquiths collection!  Please bring your own picnic with you.

Most suitable for age 6 and under.

Wednesday 29th May: 

Plant Olympics on Marsh Meadows

You’re the judge! Join us to explore the plants and trees of Marsh Meadows and decide which have got what it takes in the plant Olympics. Can you find the plant with the pointiest leaves? The smallest petals? Who will win in the heats? You decide, then make a recycled plant pot and grow your own future champion.

Most suitable for age 5+ (babes in arms are welcome to join but terrain may not be suitable for pushchairs). Please wear appropriate waterproof clothing and footwear e.g. wellies and bring suncream and a hat.

Thursday 30th May

Minibeasts and Massive Beasts!

Join us for a morning of activities inspired by minibeast and massive beasts in our collection. Crafts, stories and activities.

Suitable for all ages.

10.00am – 12.30pm, free with admission ticket – no need to book.

Friday 31st May

Willow Weaving and Planting

All children must be accompanied by an adult (18+), free of charge. Activity charge is in addition to Museum admission, but you do not need to visit the Museum to access the activities.
