Visitors with disabilities
The River & Rowing Museum offers a range of facilities to make your visit more comfortable and enjoyable. If you have any enquiries regarding facilities and services for disabled people or a copy of the Access Guide please contact us.
Access for those with physical disabilities
The Museum is accessible to those with physical disabilities:
- designated disabled car park spaces
- ramp access to the entrances
- lift access to the upper floor
- unisex accessible toilets
- wheelchair refuges on emergency evacuation routes
- wheelchair available on loan (please call prior to your visit to ensure availability 01491 415600)
- The galleries include music, oral history, interactive exhibits and objects on open display, which are accessible to visitors with sensory and intellectual disabilities.
Access for those with visual or hearing impairments
For visitors with visual or hearing impairments:
- Guide Dogs are welcome
- all exterior and interior stairs have black inserts near to the edge of each tread
- many of the audio exhibits have induction loops, including The Wind in the Willows
- emergency evacuation alarms have visual red beacons
Concessionary admission
The concessionary rate applies to visitors with disabilities.
Companions assisting visitors with disabilities are admitted free of charge.
